One deck that has really stuck out to me is Masayasu Tanahashi's Faeries list from the Extended PTQ at Paris. Hiding there is something pretty spicy - Sword of Feast and Famine. Talk about tech!

I was planning on attending this particular PTQ, playing some version of Time Sieve. That was before I discovered something else. Blightsteel Colossus. Master Transmuter. Mind = Blown. The interactions in the deck are just sick.

I'd like to offer a method I periodically use in order to keep my tournament performances in perspective, in regards to Grand Prix Atlanta and the deck I piloted to a 9th place finish. Both the deck and my methods were a hit.

Valakut, and pure RG Valakut specifically, supplanted Jund at GP: Atlanta as the second best deck. The good news for the prepared player (read: you, hopefully) is that Valakut decks in all their forms are the easiest decks to beat in Extended.
