Today we're going to revisit tribal Servos in Standard, an archetype that stands to gain the most from the printing of Benalish Marshal. Corbin Hosler had this pitched to him by a friend and suggested the idea to me and I immediately accepted and began brewing up a list. Here is where I ended up!

After playing the matches, these are the changes I would recommend:

+2 Heart of Kiran
+1 Karn, Scion of Urza

-1 Baffling End
-1 Angel of Invention
-1 Metallic Mimic

Sideboard:

-1 Gideon's Intervention
-1 Scavenger Grounds

+1 Karn, Scion of Urza
+1 Cast Out

Karn, Scion of Urza and Heart of Kiran really overperformed for me and they work great together. I definitely want to be able to name Fumigate off Gideon's Intervention against control decks, but Karn has proven to be a game winner against control almost by itself, so I replaced the fourth Intervention with another Karn. In the main deck, I think I want another turn-two artifact for Toolcraft Exemplar and I also just want more Hearts in general since we actually have a ton of ways to crew it and we don't fall behind nearly as often as I imagined we might. So Baffling End seems like the right card to cut.

Goblin Chainwhirler is pretty much the best card in the format against us and I'm not really sure how to address that issue. It basically wipes us out pretty good while leaving behind a sizeable threat. The other card that is trouble for us is God-Pharaoh's Gift. We have Cast Out to deal with it immediately and Thopter Arrest to handle it on our turn. We also have Scavenger Grounds in the sideboard, but I don't think this is enough. I could see splashing red for Abrade since the splash would not hinder our ability to cast Benalish Marshal given that we could just run four Inspiring Vantage and four Clifftop Retreat. So if we go that route, I'd suggest from the amended list above:

-7 Plains
-1 Shefet Dunes
-2 Thopter Arrest
-1 Karn, Scion of Urza

+4 Inspiring Vantage
+4 Clifftop Retreat
+3 Abrade

Sideboard:

+1 Abrade
+1 Karn, Scion of Urza

-1 Fragmentize
-1 Scavenger Grounds

It's also possible that splashing black for Scrapheap Scrounger and some sideboard copies of Duress is correct. This would improve the control matchup and the mana for splashing black would be the same as it would be for red, just replacing the red lands with Concealed Courtyards and Isolated Chapels. Divest could also be a way to preemptively take Goblin Chainwhirler or God-Pharaoh's Gift.

I'm not sure which of these directions is the most promising, but the core of this deck was more powerful than I expected and I think it is worth continuing to explore. Master Trinketeer is an excellent answer to Settle the Wreckage, Karn and Heart overperformed, and our go-wide Servo plan proved difficult for our opponents to deal with given the amount of anthem effects in the deck. I'm excited to see where this deck ends up.
