Hey, look, it's someone not Jon Corpora doing a Super Sellers! They left me in control, so I can do whatever I want – like talk about what cards sold best this week! Don't worry, I know that's what you're here for.

But first, there's something worth mentioning before we hit the cards. You might expect, given the full set spoiler for Modern Masters 2017 (including TCGplayer's own preview card), that the plethora of exciting Modern cards being reprinted might dominate this list.

But you'd be wrong. Most of the time, Standard – along with a heaping of Commander – is what truly drives Magic. You have to go all the way down to No. 15 to find a predominantly-Modern card (Thoughtseize), and since we're going outside the top 10 anyway, it's worth noting that Séance checks in at No. 16 thanks to a certain SaffronOlive effect.

Anyway, on to the top 10.

It's not just the snakes any longer.

We all know just how silly Walking Ballista is alongside Winding Constrictor – the ability to load up on counters from both the Ballista itself as well as from Rishkar, Peema Renegade and Verdurous Gearhulk has been a terror in Standard. When you see snakes, you know Ballistas aren't far behind.

But Ballista has now spread beyond black-green. Mardu Vehicles has adopted the versatile artifact as well, using it as way to break up the Felidar Guardian and Saheeli Rai combo out of Four-Color Copy Cat. It's a strategy that certainly served Josh “Wrapter” Utter-Leyton well, as he used it to win the Magic Online Championship last weekend.

I've heard that Counterspell is good. I've also heard Stifle is a pretty decent card in Legacy. Voidslime is pretty heavily played in Commander.

What's better than all that? Putting the entire package together in one mono-blue, Standard-legal card.

Disallow fills so many roles right now. It is obviously an acceptable counter when need be, but it also provides value against so much of what's going on in Standard. Walking Ballista going to kill you? Disallow. Saheeli Rai trying to combo off? Disallow. Liliana, the Last Hope going ultimate? Disallow.

It's the counter that does it all, and blue mages can't leave home without it right now.

Who doesn't like a good tribal strategy? While Metallic Mimic may not make the cut in my favorite tribal deck – Merfolk – it does make the cut in plenty, and that includes this beauty from The Mana Source.

I've got to say, this one is a bit of a head-scratcher for me. I assume this is a Commander inclusion, since there are roughly infinite Commander goodies from Champions of Kamigawa. Knowledge is power, after all, and when you need to know what your opponents are doing, look no further than Uba Mask, I guess.

We've seen a lot of variations on Kird Ape throughout the years, but Narnam Renegade may just be my favorite. At its best it's pretty darn good – a 2/3 with deathtouch for one mana. But what really sets this Kird Ape variant apart is just how annoyingly good it is even without triggering revolt – after all, one-drop deathtouch creatures are never bad! I've been known to pick up Typhoid Rats early and often in drafts, and Narnam Renegade is the best version of this effect we've seen yet.

Oh, yeah, it's also good enough to win a TCGplayer state championship.

Confession time: this card terrifies me. I'm one of those greedy Commander players who plays with a ton of non-basic lands because, well, they're all really good so I have to have them all!

Of course, for every player like me there's also someone just waiting to blow them out with From the Ashes, and if its inclusion on this list is any indication, I have a lot to worry about in the coming weeks.

What makes Magic so beautiful is how well cards work together. Obviously that includes cards meant to play together than Wizards prints every three months, but more importantly it also includes cards that were never meant to be played alongside each other.

Like fuse cards and Expertises. Not a lot can compare to the feeling of getting a free, fused Beck // Call or Breaking // Entering off of Sram's Expertise or Kari Zev's Expertise. And it's not just fun – it's a competitive Modern deck.

Tendo Ice Bridge never looked so good.

Aether Hub is one of those cards you know is going to be a staple for a very long time. It's the best land in Standard, a regular Modern player and easy-to-acquire mana fixing for players everywhere, across all formats. I doubt it falls off this list anytime soon.

Honestly, what format doesn't star Fatal Push right now? It deals with most of the creatures out of Mardu Vehicles, is a staple of the Black-Green Constrictor decks, and with revolt can even break up the Felidar Guardian-Saheeli Rai combo. Heart of Kiran getting you down? No problem, thanks to Fatal Push.

Of course, it's not just Standard where Fatal Push shines. Look no further than Craig Wescoe's demonstration of the power of Esper Control in Modern, where Fatal Push has taken the deck from merely a contender to a top-tier strategy.

Fatal Push has been a mainstay on this series, and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

As Uba Mask teaches us, knowledge is power, so now you have both! Enjoy your weekend, whether that's Friday Night Magic or anything else.

Thanks for reading,
